Huh-Ho, you bet there are! And they’re ready and waiting to run bladed, bloody circles around any force that gets in their way. They haven’t got huge guns and 5-inch thick armor, and they haven’t got swarms of soldiers to overrun their enemies with pure numbers, either. What they do have is exceptional swiftness and agility, and this book tells you how to bring it out to its full potential. A must-have for a Dark Eldar fan!

Huh-Ho, you bet there are! And they’re ready and waiting to run bladed, bloody circles around any force that gets in their way. They haven’t got huge guns and 5-inch thick armor, and they haven’t got swarms of soldiers to overrun their enemies with pure numbers, either. Indeed, it is a strange race for Warhammer 40k. The Dark Eldar are definitively a sadistic race and anyone who enjoys a little pain with the pleasure, will enjoy playing this hit and run style. If you’re just beginning with W40k and still not sure what race to pick, I’d suggest looking at the other races first. If you’ve played a bit and think this might be your one, or maybe you’ve played a lot and are looking to change races (like me), then get the Codex and start building your army.
The bad thing about the Codex is that it doesn’t include every single rule concerning the Dark Eldar. There are already a few additions on the Games Workshop site. Another iffy thing about the book is that it doesn’t have quite as many color photos of possible paint schemes as I’d like. But then again, I like to have at least two dozen schemes to choose from (plus you can always check the web).
It has a few “beginner’s” pointers if this is your first time playing the Dark Eldar but not many concerning how to build your army. I always think that Codexes should have more info on possible army combinations. But if you’re a veteran at W40k you will have no trouble realizing which models and units will definitively not work for your style of play.
Basically, just another Codex. A Codex of Strange.
