While the Guide is useless, the Atlas is just ‘mostly’ useless. There is a little real information on the maps, some of the most important information is missing. One of the poorer efforts from Prima; rushed to get it out at game release, I suspect. Not recommended.
I bought this knowing that it would be out of date before the game launch. Prima has been pretty good in the past about updates. It would appear they fired all the people responsible for keeping their customers happy. Missing and false/misleading information, and no way to find any updates on their page, if they exist.
Not much good to say about this. The pages are quite dark and difficult to read and to make matters worse the text is really tiny. They have added in some key locations to the map that will be useful but not worth this price. Don’t bother with this. In a matter of a week or so much better and clearer information will be available on the web.
Prima stop putting out sub-par game books and get with the program. I would have loved to have a good game atlas : (
Got the Prima Guide and Atlas at a really good deal from Amazon. Guide and Atlas are very colorful, good paper-quality and I love the specific class-languages. It explains classes, zones and mobs very good. I still think, that they could have done a little bit better on the maps, imo.
These books are very good looking and give a lot of lore and such, but very little info about the game itself. The game guide is just a little better than useless, no info about game mechanics, proffessions, rvr combat, ect.
good info. & maps i give it 4 stars.

I bought both of these products in anticipation that they would list quest locations, lore unlocks, maps of instances, etc.. instead I received some half hearted “story” describing each character class to show the skills they have which was not orated very well.
The books showed some locations of lairs and lore locations, it was done by showing you the same map you can see in game with a super tiny number placed on the map. Absolutely no directions on how to arrive at some of these locations other than a very unhelpful red arrow pointing to the location in some maps.
As for the Atlas…yeah, it lists each location but does not give good strategies and again the horrible use of red arrows to “help” point you in the way you should go.
All in all, if you are interested in the maps and some help with finding lore location then you will find some use from this, but I would recommend that you save your money and just do a few searches online for better and more accurate information posted by those that are playing the game now.
The atlas alone is worth it. The maps are crude, but easy to follow and locate things such as flight masters etc..
The other book is a comprehensive guide to playing the different types of characters as well as getting the most out of your character.
I very much recommend these books for a little gaming edge!
Very good game and good expansion. I love playing the Imperial Guard, who says you have to be a Space Marine to make a difference. The book gives some good information, but buy it used.
Alright if you ever wanted a game with blood and violence this would be it. In this game you get to expierience a whole new race the imperial gaurd you also get to use entirely new units like the chaplain (space marines),khorne beserkers (chaos space marines, mega armoured nobs (orks0, and the fire dragons (eldar). Most parents would probabally find this game to be quite awful but it also is a strategy game which can help in multi taking and hand eye coordination. But before buying this game remember to buy the original (Warhammer 40000 Dawn of War).
This is one of the best strategy guides I have ever owned. It goes into terrific detail about each of the maps, all of the armies and gives great strategy tips. It even suggests which units to use in each map and what to spend your precious gold at each of the towns along the way. The tactics given work well, and the level of detail while being concise is great. I haven’t looked too closely at the multiplayer section, so I can’t comment on that. Over all, this is one of the best and I would recommend it to anyone, even if they don’t have trouble with the game.
This game needs to be labeled for 15 years and younger. not a game that will interest adults.
the price tag is way overpriced.
